We here at Vector Ring create Enchanted Objects (TR). We call them this
because they leverage smart material properties and can seem like magic.
Uri Geller used a smart material prop, a nitinol spoon, in the 90’s to enable
his metal spoon bending mind trick, and that trick can still amaze people
today. One of the most exciting features of these materials is summed up
with the words “actions without moving parts”.
Vector Ring helps clients conceive, design, and implement devices in the
SMASIS (Smart Materials, Activated Structures, and Intelligent Systems) field.
For example, the steps involved in making a device based on smart material
properties require knowledge of 1) type of smart material, 2) smart material
composition, 3) smart material form, 4) smart material training, 5) device
design, 6) device prototyping, and 7) supply and manufacture planning.
Vector Ring is proud to have assisted clients such as Larry Corley of LDC, LLC
in Montgomery, Texas. Larry is now testing and marketing an invention of
Vector Rings’, the Corley Clamp (TR). The Corley Clamp is a clamp designed
to replace current technology clamps for poly (polyolefin) pipe used in
pressurized fluid transmissions, such as for natural gas, water, and sewage.
These clamps will provide him and other clamp users a safer, easier to
deploy clamp for use in the maintenance and emergency squeeze-off operations
on the pressurized gas poly pipe.
